Biography

In 2005, Sheryl Bussard moved from Laguna Beach, Calif. to northern Idaho where she currently works for Coldwater Creek as a senior copywriter for the catalog division. She was recently named one of three "in-house fashionistas" for the company's new social networking site, the Style Spot, where she posts fashion tips, selections from current collections, and answers style questions. Previously she was the web copy manager.

Now focused on fashion and retail apparel, her background covers a range of industries, from moisturizers to motorcycles. Working as a freelancer under the banner of The Writer at Large, she has provided copywriting and marketing/communications services for clients including Sunset Books, Gucci Timepieces, IHOP Restaurants, Universal Studios, the Golden Door Resort and Spa, AeroVironment, Motorcycle Industry Council, Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and Jostens Learning, among others.

Her articles have appeared in The Washington Post, Sandpoint Magazine, Newsday, Monterey County Herald, Buffalo News, Laguna Coastline Pilot, Laguna Life and People, The Laguna Beach Independent, Motosavvy, Speed TV, and other print and online publications. Her ads have appeared in Sunset magazine, Publisher's Weekly, People magazine, and other national publications.

In addition to catalog copy, direct marketing emails, and web content, her writing specialties include advertising concepts and copy, brochures, video scripts, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, sales collateral, kids promotions, and media materials.

A few years ago she added snow reporter to her resume, following (a single) winter when she braved the nine-mile twisty road up to Schweitzer Mountain Resort at 3:30 a.m. several times a week to provide hourly updates on ski conditions.

When Sheryl isn't shopping online or avoiding yardwork, she is an avid hiker, biker, fly fisher, skier, and Pilates devotee. Her newest obsession is writing a book with the working title, "101 Shopping Rationales for All Occasions."
